5th OCTOBER - DAY 4
Lindholm Høje
Back to the Vikings
At around 13:00 p.m. we left
the school and walked to the Lindholm Høje museum which is in the northern part of Aalborg and the most important
Viking burial site in the area. This museum contains all the
history of Denmark, from the Stone Age to the Viking Age. When we arrived, we
were divided in small groups of four or five Italians and some Danish students
who explained us something about the Viking Age.
After visiting the museum and the Viking burial site, we walked back to
school all together. When we arrived there, we were offered some coffee and
cakes, which we enjoyed a lot.
After being divided in small groups of Italian and Danish students we
started to prepare a typical Danish dinner with typical dishes like Frikadeller
and Tartelleter, we also prepared a potato salad and some desserts. When we
finished we started to play the musical chair game, a party game in which we
were competing for a chair while the music was playing. Some Danish students
had organized it while we were preparing the dinner. We played for almost an
hour laughing a lot, then we sat at the table and ate what we had cooked
before. It was really tasty.
After dinner we started to clean the canteen all together while the
music was still playing. It was nice and easy as each group had something to
do. Some washed the dishes, some dried them, someone else cleaned the kitchen and
the canteen. So we spent the time doing things and enjoying ourselves together,
we had a lot of fun and the experience was nice. When the party was over we
went back to our host families.
