7th OCTOBER - DAY 6
Maths Workshops and Danish Lessons
On monday 7th we had a very busy day.
We were at
school for 5 hours, until somebody had to go to the city centre for shopping
and buy souvenirs, while others remained at school to play some football or
basketball.
The morning was
planned like this: the first, the third and the fourth hours were used by us to
create our own Street arts using prospective and applying our mathematical
knowledge and skills.
During these three
hours we had, firstly, an explanation by the Danish Maths teacher Line on how to
do proper calculations and the way our work should be done. All of us took
a while to understand everything, then with Canarini's help and her simple
italian explanation all requests were clearer. Then we started working in
different groups.
Some group thought
about creating boxes projections, bins or also number.
On the third hour,
we started to work on papers and to complete our calculations, then we drew our subjects on the ground with chalks or on bigger papers on tables. Some
groups had some issues passing from the theoretical part to the practical one.
Then almost all
groups finished their works during the fourth hour, to perfect drawings.
In the second and
in the fifth hours, instead, we had to observe some lessons in different classes: we had very different courses to follow: Psychology, Social Science, various
languages, Maths, etc...
Students during lessons were always using their computers, while the teacher was introducing his/her lessons. We could see very silent classes, maybe for boredom or, more probably, for paying more attention to the lessons, and very calm and relaxed teachers, even when someone was using his smartphone. The teacher simply took it and put it on her desk, without any argument.
Then, when courses
finished, everybody just went out and greeted the teacher.
In the evening, we
had our last dinner with our host families and someone said goodbye to them
because they had to go to work early.
