3rd OCTOBER - DAY 2

Street Art in Aalborg

The second day we spent in Denmark was going to be about street art, especially the one that was in Aalborg. After arriving at school at 8.15 we followed a lesson by Larse Bonde regarding this topic in which he showed us lots of murals made by famous artists that we would have to search around the city during the afternoon.

After this presentation we had a Geography lesson about Råjberg Mile and Grenen and then a Maths assignment: we should calculate the area between two parabolas built on the image of the sand dune.

At 11.30 we worked in pairs with our hosts and analyzed some realistic paintings after having listened to an explanation about impressionist artists in Skagen. We had lunch afterwards.

In the afternoon we went to Aalborg and were divided into two groups to have a historical walk around the city or to find some street art murals we saw during the lesson and, then, swapped with the other group. The murals represented different objects, like beautiful women; they were so big , infact some of them covered the entire building.

These activities ended at 4 pm and we went to our host’s house to spend some time with the family, have dinner and afterwards went to the school music competition until 10 pm. It has been fun , especially because of the talent of all the 9 groups and singers.

The music competition was very competitive infact the songs presented by the nine groups were all originally written by them. The people that played the instruments were also very good.

After having seen the song Anytime win, we went home after a very tiring day in which we walked a lot, especially in Aalborg, appreciating what street art can do and mean.
